Recent changes to #PPE Regulations mean that all those responsible for purchasing need to ensure that their suppliers to meet the new regulatory requirements.
From April 2019 any products that are CE marked under Directive 89/686/EEC will no longer meet the new Regulations. While this is quite technical it should be a simple question that any reputable supplier can answer particularly given that everyone involved in the manufacture, supply and distribution of PPE are legally responsible to ensure products comply with standards.
These changes shouldn’t impact the relationship between suppliers and their customers however a proactive approach should be taken by those responsible for purchasing PPE for their workforce.
This doesn’t affect an employer’s responsibility to provide PPE where required and must continue to ensure specific risk assessments are completed and where PPE is identified as required it:
