Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex is Northern Ireland’s £38m flagship leisure complex, which was completed in March 2013. The development of the centre includes a £15m investment from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL), administered by Sport Northern Ireland.
The complex includes the development of Northern Ireland’s first FINA standard 50 metre swimming pool, water zone with sidewinder slide and gym.
RDHS staff provided health and safety management support in the lead up to the opening which included advising on the new indoor sidewinder waterslide. RDHS staff also completed pre-contract inspections as part of the hand-over management process from construction to operations.
