Last week during our support day at #leevalley farm, one of the areas we focused on was vibration risks and the management controls required. Whilst there is plenty of HSE information specifically for agriculture, some of the information and guidance from manufacturers and industry bodies is surprisingly sparse.
Whilst this is one of many risks that need to be considered by farmers, it’s not an ‘obvious’ one. However, the long term effects of whole body and hand arm vibration are well established, and the long hours that can be spent using machinery pose specific risks that need to be managed.
Although there’s seemingly a lack of guidance for the agricultural sector, there is plenty guidance from other industries that we can use to help @leevalleypark farm ensure their workers are safe.
