After the success of the inaugural Christmas Market held at the Lee Valley White Water Centre in 2016, Vibrant Partnerships extended the offering over the following years to make the most of the previously under-used open spaces of the Venue.
As incumbent consultants to the Trust, RDHS Ltd became an integral part of the planning team to help ensure that this continued to be a success and remained safe and secure where temporary structures were installed and third party contractors worked on site.
Providing initial guidance on site layout and development of the project plan, this then extended to assist in the procurement and vetting of contractors and their documentation, implementing all responsibilities under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and providing on-site support during the build and break.
Event Management Plans were compiled along with provision of specific Emergency Documentation and Contingency Planning, (which in 2017 saw the need to be implemented when the snow hit for a few days and the forced the site to close!).
Each year has involved fresh challenges to add a little bit of “Magic of Christmas” at the Olympic Legacy Venue including Ice Skating Rink, Grotto, Fun Fair, giant Christmas Tree and a festive market. In 2018 the project team even included a curling rink as part of the offer!
Each event has been a great success with over 30,000 visitors each year and we always look forward to continue working with Vibrant Partnerships to enable them to bring their ideas to life.
